I have had some really awesome opportunities since signing with Karben Studios that I am excited to tell you about.
Aside from my weekly Saturday nights at Walker’s Pint, a place I hold very near and dear to my heart as this is where my career began, I have picked up gigs I am so proud to be part of.
In addition to Walker’s Pint, I have had a monthly gig with Plum Lounge, I DJ a monthly workout for an extraordinary group of people at iLoveKickboxing, I am Marquette University Women’s Basketball Official DJ, and I DJ’d for the Milwaukee Brewer’s Holiday party!
I love what we have built on our Saturday nights at The Pint. It has been a project 4 years in the making and every night I leave feeling so happy and proud. I am given a lot of freedom to read the crowd and end up playing a lot of hip-hop, old school and new, sprinkled with pop and top 40. The Pint is such a versatile space on it’s own, so on Saturday night we turn it into what I like to refer to as ‘Club Pint’, a bar with a DJ and amazing staff that throws a great party for anyone that walks through the door.
Plum Lounge has been so incredibly refreshing to have on my calendar. Every night I am there the diversity of patrons makes it such a fun venue to play. This place is something so incredibly special in our city and brings in people from across the globe. They even opened this past Sunday, a day they are normally closed, for R. Kelly after his show for the after party!
DJing for the monthly DJ workout at iLoveKickboxing is just so inspiring. I am in charge of the music for back-to-back classes where the instructors demand nothing but your best effort. From the jump-off with the 15 minute high-intensity warm-up all the way through each and every single three minute round of their “Right hook, front kick, jab cross” drills, they let me crank it up and play music to keep their clients motivated and working so hard sweat drips from the windows.
As Marquette Women’s Basketball Official DJ and Host for every home game I am able to have two of my worlds come together between music and basketball. I could not be more ecstatic and honored. I am so fortunate to be part of such a prestigious university in our city and it is such a privilege to play music at one of the most amazing environments in women’s basketball in the country at The Al McGuire Center.
Last, but definitely not least, I was brought in to DJ for the Milwaukee Brewer’s Organization Holiday party. As a Milwaukee sports fan, this was flat-out cool. The day of, a text came through that made the day even better; in fact, it was off the charts. I was informed that I would be DJing for Montell Jordan as he made a surprise guest appearance to sing his former #1 hit “This is How We Do it” and have a meet and greet.
Words cannot describe how fortunate I feel to have all of this under my belt. I am incredibly excited for what’s to come and thrilled to share this journey with you as we continue to #DareToBe!
